I‘m an autodidactic conceptual and visual artist from Vienna, Austria. I work with artistic photography, creating digital photographs and photomontages.

Visually, my work is characterized by the painterly effects achieved during the photographic process and the use of coloured lights in darker environments. My practice is rooted in modern pictorialism.

For me, the camera is like a painting brush, rather than a tool for documentation. I passionately alter reality in front of the camera and refuse editing my works.

The concepts underlying my work series are centered on deeply existential themes, such as trauma and emotional needs, reflecting on personal experiences. At the same time my work allies with the brighter side, like growth, resilience and healing.

I work under the artist name Kosmides, which is the original Greek surname of my paternal family that changed due to bureaucratic faults after intergenerational experiences of displacement and flight. Through that, I also connect my practice with questions of origin.

My aim is to fill rooms with dreams, encouragement and strength through my art.
